The «CASA DI RIPOSO PER LA GENTE DI MARE» in Camegli (Italy) is a rather
special Old People's Home that offers retired sailors their last abode.
These "flotsam and jettison" characters have been on the high scas for the
greatest parts of their lives and now find themselves here aboard the ship
taking them on their «final voyage». In the film GENTE DI MARE they
reminisce about the trials and tribulations of their lives and the emotional
bonds they have with the seemingly boundless ocean - the unquenchable source
of symbolic meaning.
